Kristin
kicked butt at the Festival of Horse show in LA. She earned her
bronze medal by receiving her last required 3rd level score on
Lars this past weekend. Congratulations - we are sooo... proud.
They are now off to Sacramento and then will be working their
way back up north to be home next week.
Don
Daiquiri was also at the LA show and performed his first
freestyle at 2nd level. End result first place with 75.5%. Way
to go.
Hi Marion &
Reinhart: Julia is doing well and enjoying her time - I know, it
does not look like much work but believe me it is a REAL skill
to keep those toes perfectly groomed...and we decided that it is
a good thing to be horse trainers and NOT foot models because we
would have a tough time finding work :0)

Today
Kristin is heading from San Diego to LA for the Festival of the
horse show. We will keep you updated with the results.
Also, quick
reminder, the Raf clinic is April 11-14.
schedule

After that,
it is time for the world Cup Finals in Las Vegas (April 15-19).
Isabell Werth qualified both her top horses, Satchmo and Warum
Nicht. She won the Finals with Warum Nicht in Vegas 2
years ago and will bring her Olympic horse, Satchmo this time
around.

There was
some drama with Anky van Grunsven, who wanted to qualify
Salinero for Vegas but was not able to ride in two required
qualifiers due to back pain. However, she has qualified the
stallion Painted Black but is not sure if she will travel all
the way to Vegas with him, as he is "only" her second horse and
not quite as good as Salinero. She was hoping for a last minute
wild card for Salinero but since the Dutch Federation did not
apply for one, that was also a no go. The wild cards were
awarded to Leslie Morse & her stallion Kingston and Jan Ebeling
& his mare Rafalca.

March 19,

The CDI in
Del Mar was a blast. We got to visit Kristin, who has been
training in California since the beginning of March.
Unfortunately, bad timing would have it that an old back injury
acted up two days before the event and she was unable to show
off all her hard work with the 16 year old 4th level gelding
Lars (below).

We saw
former Cavallis sales horse and Siggi's "horse of a lifetime"
award winner, Don Daiquiri. He traveled down from Vancouver BC
and was enjoying the sunshine with his owner Jayne and trainer
Karen. They kicked Guenther Seidel's butt in a Second
Level class and won the class with a super score of 74.4%. They
were able to repeat their winning streak 4 times that weekend.
Congratulations :0)

Local show
matador Jennifer Schrader-Williams showed Wistar in the open
Grand Prix class and placed 2nd with a 62.979%.

It was fun
to watch Debbie McDonalds protégée Adrienne Lyle, who originally
comes from Whidbey Island. She took over the rides on
Debbie's horses, Felix & Wizard as well as several promising
youngsters, all sponsored by the Thomas family.

class.
Jan Ebeling
and his mare Rafalca had one of the most difficult and best
freestyles during the competition.

Steffen
Peters schooling his Olympic horse, Ravel (left) and competing
Gwen Blakes gelding Sancette in the open PSG class, taking 2nd
place with 70% (right).
Guenter

during the jog with her stallion Kingston.
The ladies
had way too much fun at Kevin & Sandi Fortun's amazing
restaurant,
Desert
Sage in La Quinta. Yum, yum and more yum...
