April 21 -
Las Vegas World Cup Final DAY 3
It was a
fantastic night, we saw 12 freestyles, the music was a amazing
and the atmosphere like a mini-Aachen. The crowds were on their
feet when Isabell finished her test. Warum Nicht was in much
better form than for the first part on Thursday and Isabell
looked like she had overcome the jet lag.
We really
missed Andreas Helgstrand /Blue Hors Matine & Anky van Grunsven
/ Salinero. Unfortunately, Matine slipped when coming off a
trailer at her arrival in Las Vegas and was a little off
thereafter, so she did not pass the vet exam preceding the
competition. Anky just had a baby girl and opted to stay
behind the sidelines.
The day started off with a little reunion of the girls, KGF Equestrian owner Kevin & Sandi at Margherita Ville in Las Vegas The World Cup Winner - Isabell Werth & Warum Nicht were all smiles - BTW, we had the most AWESOME seats ever ;) Don't you point your white gloved finger at ME, young lady... 2nd place: Imke Schellekens-Bartels and her super-pretty mare sunrise. 3rd place: Steffen Peters & Floriano

April 9
Congratulations to Sherrie P. of Seattle on the recent
purchase of Amoreux.
He and Kecia's Laudatio will most likely travel together the big
ocean to arrive on the west coast later this month. Amoreux will
stay with his new owner Sherrie in sunny California for a month before making
his way up to KGF Equestrian Center to train with Cavallis in
May.
Kecia and
Siggi went location scouting on Friday and found a great place with huge fields and lots of
horsey buddies
for Laudatio to chill out for a couple of months before starting horsey school
102 at KGF Equestrian Center in
September.

Quick
reminder, Jennifer Schrader-Williams clinic is this coming
Monday (April 9) at KGF Equestrian Center. There are still
a couple of spots open.

We just got
the news that Laudatio is moving to the Pacific Northwest!
Congratulations Kecia!!!
We are so
excited about our newest Seattle community member! Finally we
will see you on a "Kecia-size" horse again. Nothing against Mio
and Eis but we love the XXL version for you ;-)
We can
hardly wait to see you two in the show ring!
Big hug,
Siggi and Sandra

Pictures &
update from our Princess Cora and her new mom, Suzanne in
Virgina. It was so cute, that I'm just going to share her email
with you :)
"...Cora
is absolutely the best! Thank you so much for showing her to me
and for being so available to answer questions and concerns.
Without your help and guidance, I would have probably passed her
up. However, I am sooo glad that I didn't. She is the perfect
horse for me, and I am absolutely in love with her. I really
can't believe that anyone would want to give her up -- it's
beyond me! I'm sure Julie had good reasons for doing so, but
this mare is definitely something special. Everyone that's met
her has been ga ga over her temperament, looks, and
conformation. Wait til they see her move in the show ring! I've
been riding her consistently, and Brenda has been here several
times to get me off on the right track with Cora. I have some
bad habits to overcome, and Brenda and Cora are helping me to
develop new, good habits. I took Cora out on the trail a couple
of times already, and she is an unbelievable trail horse! She
really is the calmest, most obedient horse I've ever ridden. She
will be with me until the day she dies...
Lastly, here are some photos of me and Cora, as you asked for.
Thanks again for matching me to my perfect horse! Good luck with
everything out there in Seattle. Keep in touch!"

We just got
some cool pictures of our Andalusian Stallion Hosco that we
wanted to share with you!
He could be
America's next top model!

A message from Suzanne, Cora's NEW mom,
"Just thought I'd let you know that Cora arrived last
night in Philadelphia at 8:00pm and we got her to my barn by
11:30. She was so calm and quiet stepping out of the horse box
in Philly, I couldn't believe it! The shipper said she was a
"great traveler" -- but I guess you guys already knew
this!...Anyway, she's settling in very well, and seems to be
enjoying her new digs. I let her out in the arena this morning,
and she is such a beautiful mover! I saw that she was a
fantastic mover before, but never at liberty, and WOW!! I can't
wait to ride tomorrow! Thanks again for selling her to me and
for organizing everything on your end."
We are anxiously awaiting pictures of princess Cora at her
new castle and will post them as soon as we get them.
Congratulations again to Suzanne & Cora!!
March 19
Lot's of
horsie news.
Nea La Cora
found her new mom with Suzanne Ager in Virgina. The princess
will be traveling to her new residence via plane first thing
tomorrow morning. We will miss her dearly, as she is definitely
one of the biggest sweesthearts we've ever had. We wish Suzanne
& Cora the very best and will keep you updated on how she is
doing at her new home...
Lisa H.
purchased the 11 year old Lauries Crusador xx son Leonardo
(Leo). He already moved to KGF Equestrian Center and Siggi is
looking forward to working with Lisa & Leo once she is back in
Seattle on Tuesday. Lisa also owns the very promising 4
year old mare Riona by Rodioso (Rohdiamant). We are very
excited for Lisa and congratulate her on the recent purchase of
her schoolmaster.
Kecia fell
in love with Laudatio, a 3 year old Rhineland Gelding by
Laudabilis. Laudatio is a half brother to Farah Diba F who was
sold through Cavallis in 2006.

Stay
tuned...

Message
from Siggi & Kecia: the surprise worked out great - we
have it captured on video - Sandra was speechless - literally -
when she expected Sally & Cassie from Fort Stockton/Texas in the
hotel lobby and Kecia and I came around the corner instead... As
the Mastercard ad would say: plane ticket to the Equitana
$700, rental car $300, hotel $300, Sandra's face when she saw us
instead of Sally - PRICELESS...

Seattle friends:

from Texas (aka Siggi) has arrived safely and she and her "client"
Cassie (aka Kecia) are going
to look at the "champagne taste and beer budget" horses tomorrow...
;-)
You little
brats !!!
March 11
The
Cavallis team kicked butt at the Donida schooling show.
Kristin & Iceman won their Training Level and First Level class
with 66% and 65.5%. Mio was shown by Jama and Kecia at Training
/ First Level with lot's of improvement which was rewarded by
many 7's and Kecia was able to cross the magic number line, we
are very proud of the progress Mio is making!! Siggi
& Flamenco won their Third Level Test 3 class with 65.5% - many
7 and 8's on the score sheet.
For the
first time out, we can all be very pleased with our ponies and
results. The judging was fair with lots of good feedback on what
to work on to get the scores up even higher - 70% here we come
:).
The gang, minus Sandi who was our dedicated photographer and Kecia, who rode Mio at the time. apparently this is Kristin'e interpretation of a winners face :)

Do you
remember the "little Texaner stallion" Majestic that came to
Cavallis to be be started & trained in October 2006? Well
here is the long promised update...
BEFORE:
300lb underweight and pretty banged up after a long haul from
Texas to Seattle.

First
item on the agenda - he became a gelding on our grassy fields in
January 2007...

AFTER
lots of loving care by his owners, Cavallis and the NW Equine
Veterinary team, he is at least 250lb heavier, happy & healthy
and has been started under saddle at the beginning of February.
This is how
he looks now:

We just got
the report on how much traffic the Cavallis website handles each
year and we are happy to report that all of our longtime
customers, potential clients, supporters, friends and family
seem to check in quite often with us - we are proud to report to
have more than doubled the traffic on our website, having
generated 3.6 million hits by over 22000 unique
visitors in the year 2006.
thank you, thank you, thank you...
We will do
our very best to keep the website interesting and worth
visiting. We are currently working on a Cavallis
merchandising line and might open up a forum for everyone to
exchange thoughts on different horse and training related
issues. Please feel free to email us at
siggi@cavallis.com if
you have any suggestions, requests or things you would like us
to do in the future.
We are very
excited about the report and would like to thank you for your
continued support and friendship.

trail rides.

Sandi,
Flamenco and Siggi attended the Karen Robinson freestyle clinic
in Redmond. We are very excited about the music that Karen
selected, tomorrow we will work on the choreography and look
forward to showing off this special stallion in the coming show
season. This was Menco's first outing since she was imported
from Germany about 8 months ago. He was an absolute champ
and gentleman.
Sandi and her stud muffin arrived at the clinic barn in Redmond (WA) look at that hock action...perfectly parellel front and hind leg... wow...what a cutie...no wonder all the mares were flirting with him...
