Santero, 4 year old Oldenburg gelding by Sandro Hit has arrived from his long journey from Germany yesterday. He is in very good shape and condition and clearly enjoyed stretching his legs in the field today.

Amaroux - the lucky one is back from his vacation since the weekend. His mom is currently experiencing the "joy" of saddle fitting. His beautiful "bling" bridle arrived today, on Wednesday he will get a new set of shoes and then there is nothing anymore to hold this superstar back.

Rick & Callie had their show debut at the Lake Washington Saddle Club schooling show.  They did very well, in the ribbons at 4th place in both of their classes, got great feedback from the judges and scored almost 62% the first time around. Way to go Rick!!

The first Equestrian Institute show, L'Aperitif, was this weekend and we are happy to announce the Cavallis team & clients kicked butt :0)

Peter and Iggy were up first thing in the morning and set the bar very high with a 74% (10% difference to the second place ride with 63.5%), which earned them 1st place in their Training-2 class.  They went on to place 2nd in their Training-4 class with a qualifying score of 68.4% (the winning ride was only 0.04 difference at 68.8%).

Kristin & Iceman Training-4 and First-4 tests were both solid. She placed 2nd in her First Level class with a qualifying score of 66% (the winning ride was 68.5%). She placed 6th in her Trainings Level class with a score of 66% (the winning ride was 68.8% - so they are very close to the top). Rock on.

Kecia and Mio had two little mishaps during their First-4 test but recovered nicely with a qualifying score of 63% and 5th place (the winning ride was 68%).  They also made their Second Level debut at and earned 4th place first time out. I guess they like Andalusians afterall ;0)

Paige & Dan O' Brien won both their classes, Training-4 with 68%, winning them the junior rider high point award at the show; and First-4 with 66.5% (2nd place ride was 6% behind at 60%).

Siggi was originally scheduled to ride Sandi's Andalusian stallion, Flamenco, but he was busy with the ladies if you know what I mean (wink wink).

Lynne came to the rescue and offered her mare, Eiswein (a.k.a. Little Orange Horse), to replace Flamenco last minute.  Siggi got in two training rides before it was showtime. They winged it quite nicely, as they won their Dressage Equitation class with a whopping 82% (14% difference to the 2nd place ride at 66%).

During the Second Level, Test 4 ride they had some minor disagreements in the simple changes and turn on the haunches but they finished strong with a receiving the highest possible score - 10 out of 10 - for their final halt & salute, earning them 2nd place with 62% (the winning ride was 64%).

I guess it's not over until it's over :0).

Thank you for all the great support of our team and as for friends and family - thank you for coming out - even though it was a rather cold and rainy day.

We had a great time and are looking forward to kicking some more bootie at the coming shows.

Siggi's 19 year old Trakehner mare Brie has officially started retirement at Jones Farms, a local farm that specialized in rehab, lay-up and retirement.  Brie will be sharing a 5 acre field with two other ladies. Laudatio and Amaroux are also at Jones Farm and directly in the field next to Brie, who will keep a very close eye on those two pranksters.

Laudatio and Amaroux are on vacation in order to recoup from the stress of traveling the big ocean from Germany.

In addition, Amaroux - The Lucky One as we call him now has quite a story to tell, which involves a 6 miles run on pavement at 30 miles an hour, being chased by the police with sirens, almost getting on the freeway while crossing three 4-lane roads during rush hour on a Friday afternoon, giving everyone including the 911 operator a heart attack - to miraculously end up in someone's open garage and withstand the entire ordeal WITHOUT - I repeat WITHOUT the slightest scratch, bump, swelling, heat in legs or hooves or any mental repercussion...it's unbelievable but true...as I said he has earned a new surname (The Lucky One) and his vacation which he obviously enjoys.

His new mom Sherrie and her family are especially proud to have found such a smart, healthy, sound and LUCKY horse as our Amaroux.

Congratulations to Bobbie H. of Kirkland (WA) for the recent purchase of her perfect match, the 10 year old Westphalian gelding Rockefeller (aka Rosenfuerst) by Rosenkavalier.

This is what Bobbie had to say about her journey to find him:

“There’s one I think might be interesting…..” “he makes my heart go up when I ride him”…..   That’s all I knew about Rockefeller (Rosie) when we discussed going out to ‘try him”.

Watching the first video of me riding him, I can hear myself saying “God what a horse” under my breath as we flew by,..…I don’t even remember saying it.   Subconsciously,  the perfect match was already sealed for me at that point.   But my conscious mind had concerns, and Siggi had a list  …… “Could I step up and make the commitment it would take to learn to ride him to his, and my, potential?  Could I get out of my relaxed ‘back-yard’ rehab mindset and plug-in as an “athletic director’ for a horse like this?” “Is he a “hot house flower” or can he go out on the trails, hang out in my back yard, and ride in my back yard ring?” “Can I change my cuddly “lead and feed’ ways and take the “left seat” with this "Dessault Falcon jet?”  All points Siggi wouldn’t let me avoid, or talk myself out of, as we went through the trial and consideration process.

Cavallis made sure that our match was right by slowing me down.  Siggi insisted we take the time to think, and let Rosie show us his  V-12 engine, heart stopping movement, and super keen attitude were combined with the nerves of steel,  rock solid mind, and manners of a shy debutante;  all characteristics optimal amateur horses should possess.   Once all was revealed by Rosie and confirmed, the commitment part couldn’t come fast enough!  I feel like I found the ‘blood diamond’!!   You can tell, he was beautifully trained and handled by his former owners, and I want to do everything to maintain that,  not only for his consistent comfort, but to make sure he doesn’t change in any way!!    I guess  the subconscious takes care of all that because I  never want to lose this little slice of heaven and I can’t wait to …. ride….ride….ride!!!     Now I know what it means …..we will help you find (“and be sure of”),  ‘your perfect match’.  For me, there was a lot of integrity behind what that really means.  Thank you Cavallis for making sure I found, and had been appropriately matched to, my horse of a lifetime!!!  I couldn’t be happier!

Bobbie and Rosie Rockefeller.
