We just got an update from
Jenny and Ducati. He is enjoying sunny California and getting
happily dirty in turnout - FYI he always loved his mud baths in
rainy Seattle...
Here is a picture of the
two...looking good, nice uphill canter, foamy mouth and strong
top line - nice job, Jenny :0)

Our horsey friend D.C. lost
the fight with colic today. He was in semi-retirement and a very
happy camper out in a big field and light work. We will
miss him dearly.
In memories of our gentle giant, Don Capello II. We will miss him dearly. He had the undeniable showring presence with his Kecia. The biggest horse with the biggest heart taking lil Sandra for a ride. oh so pretty... Kecia & DC at Whidbey Island. He had many friends and was loved by everyone. Auntie Laurie thinks that this halter might not fit...he was definitly XXXL ;0) a silent moment shared with his friend lil Sandra and auntie Laurie... We wish D.C. just as much fun on his next journey, as he will NEVER be forgotten here on earth and in our hearts...We miss you buddy.
In memories of our gentle giant, Don Capello II. We will miss him dearly.

Malipiero has made it to
KGF Equestrian Center yesterday after a week vacation at Julie's
barn, where he got to play in big pastures and just rest after
the long journey. He arrived there last week in great spirits
and without a scratch. At day three, Julie could not take
it any longer, put the saddle on and rode him by herself - she
had a blast and he was a champ, as usual :0)
Yesterday, Siggi rode him
in the arena, just a light suppleing workout and he felt awesome
- I wish every rider could have a horse like that once in their
lifetime - uncomplicated & fun!! Today we went on a relaxing
trail ride out in the woods with his new friend Iceman. On
Thursday the farrier is scheduled to trim his feet and get new
shoes. And then he can go back to a more demanding work schedule
- until then, he will just enjoy settling in.
Many greetings to his
Sattel vermessen. Er hat 3 verschiedene Rambo Decken, eine
Schuhmacher Trense, Karotten und Kuesschen ohne Ende. Danke
nochmals fuer dieses wundervolle Pferd. Ich werde auf ihn
wie meinen Augapfel aufpassen.
Liebe Gruesse,
Julie, Siggi & Malipiero

For Joy is moving to
Australia!!!
For Joy, Marion's top
competition horse for the last five years is now moving to
Australia to her new owners Kaz and Ray. For Joy has an
outstanding show record up to Inter I, she has been in the
finals of the German Bundeschampionships as a 5 and 6 year old,
from then on she has been the most successful Hanoverian mare of
her age group every year.

For Joy's new owners are
already long-term Cavallis friends, last year they purchased
Donna Bonita, a 4 year old Hanoverian mare by Don Bosco. Donna
Bonita and Kaz had an awesome show year with many wins and
highpoints up to 2nd level. We are sure that For Joy also will
continue her route of success with Kaz and make the step to
Grand Prix with her.
We are very excited that
she found such a lovely and competitive home, we keep our thumbs
up for you!

Kaz on For Joy, Reinhard
and Marion on our famous White Kiss.
Marion has "lost" two of
her top competition horses in the last month with For Joy going
to Australia and Mac Duncan moving to the Netherlands.
Luckily due to Reinhard's very good "eye" there are lots of
youngsters waiting to step into their footprints!

... and
this one: priceless

Well NO-one can call Show
Team Cavallis a bunch of sissy's after this weekend - we left
the barn Saturday when it started snowing at freezing
temperatures, then is turned into pouring rain & stormy
gusts.
Conclusion: winter show circuit in the Pacific Northwest is not
for the faint of heart, unless you come in ski gear with an
umbrella attached to your head - like Siggi ;0).
Sandi & Flamenco
It was their first time out
together. Sandi did a great job controlling her joyful bundle of
energy :0)
T-1, 64%, 2nd place
T-2, 57%, 4th place

Jesse & Guenther
The wind really started
hauling when Jesse rode and made the metal gates of the arena blow open and rattle up a storm, which caused some
spooks and tension in an
otherwise very solid performance.
T-4, 58%, 2nd place
T-2, 59%, 5th place

Melissa & Guenther
Unfortunately, the weather
turned for the worse, when it was Melissa's turn. She decided to
scratch, so that we could load up and get the ponies home before the
trailers were all blown away. It was too bad because they did a
fantastic job in the warm-up ring but that only means that they will be
even more ready next time.

Kristin & Iceman
Iceman was not feeling a
100% but Kristin lead her pony through her 2-3 & 2-4 tests
accurately, which resulted in a 2nd and 3rd place.

Siggi & Santero
Santero was a super-star
show pony, as this was only his second time at a show but nothing
could get on his nerves - this horse has a temperament & work
ethic to die for. He delivered two impressive performances
that were rewarded with 9 on gaits and great comments.
FEI 4 year old test, 70%,
1st place
T-4, 69.6%, 1st place

Siggi & Don Daiquiri
Don Daiquiri was full of
life due to the cold temperatures and stormy conditions but the
extra energy resulted in an exuberant performance, which was
rewarded with 8 on gaits and great comments from
the judge. I think this horse will be unbeatable, once he
settles down a bit with a little more show routine.
FEI 5 year old test, 68%,
1st place
2-2, 66%, 1st place

Kecia came without Laudi
but supported the Cavallis Show Team and our friend Laurie &
Livingston, who got her feet wet at the shows with riding 1-4.
And of course, Sandi met a new doggie
friend - I sure hope that her puppy Hogie does not surf the net,
finds this picture
and gets jealous... no worries, Hogie - you are her number ONE.

Malipiero is on his way to
Seattle this very minute. He landed in LA on Wednesday and will
be at Julie's farm in Carnation Saturday evening, meaning
tonight :0) Yipeeeeeeeeeee...
He will just hang out and
take a breather in the big pastures for a week or so before
moving to KGF Equestrian Center to start his journey with his
new mom under Siggi's guidance. When he is ready, he will move
back to Julie's place and be under the watchful eye of our dear
colleague, Wendy Meyers.
Here you can see a picture
of Malipiero's new home (big grassy fields, many horsey & human
friends, and a covered arena with the best footing waiting for
him). Julie and her husband did a fabulous job remodeling this
farm - it is drop dead dead gorgeous and we think Malipiero will
LOVE it :0)

Also, we are off to a
schooling show at Donida on Sunday. We are going to take Iceman,
Santero, Don Daiquiri, Guenther and Flamenco. Sandi is
going to show her Flamenco for the first time and Laurie is
going to get her feet wet with Professor Livingston. We
are all very excited and will give you a full report when we are
back.

was delicious :)

The search might finally be over... Juli with her Mama Sandra 15 year old Sarotti - Sandra's old pony, which lives in the backyard of her parents... we of course had to stop & shop at the jewlery shop - Kecia I got you some cute ear rings - not the same but very close :0) Family Tillmann says hi and invite you to some care free jewlery shopping whenever you might be in town... the usual picture - one of Siggi's suitcases - completely filled with chocolate. I think I should see someone about this...
The search might finally be over...

Today is
Day 3 of THE SEARCH for Julies perfect match. So far, two have
definitely gotten her heart to beat a little faster, Le Maurice

tell it will be a hard decision.

Siggi had time to visit her
family in Rostock for a couple of days before she is meeting up
with Sandra and Julie in Cologne.
life is good on a sunny fall day in Rostock. Siggi and "Mutti" - Kecia, Sandi & Diane - Mutti says HI :0) horses are a way of life here and they just cross the street whereever you might be. Cars have to yield. a VERY COLD surprise this morning, scraping windows... but it is sunny and dry...(check out the poster behind - horses everywhere...) What can I say - Julie is looking for a small & safe pony. I think we found it!!!

Congratulations to Jenny
from California for the purchase of her perfect match, Ducati.
We are so excited for both of them, because it was love at first
sight. Ducati moved to sunny California last weekend and we are
looking forward to hear how he likes his new home.

Siggi received a very nice
email regarding her rides at the championships that she wanted
to share with you, "Hi
There - I scribed on Saturday - Toklat ring - and had the
opportunity to watch you and Santero and Don Daiquiri compete.
You were AMAZING! Both of your guys weren't too sure about the
lakes in and around the arena, but you rode them through it so
beautifully. The judge - Joan Macartney at B - and I fell deeply
in love with Don Daiquiri. She continued to reflect and ruminate
on your ride well after you left the arena!
BRAVO!
October 7, 2007
We just received an update
from Meg and her mare Finest Selection, which she named FS Tiger
Lily :)
FS Tiger Lily is already
kicking bootie, winning the 4/5 year old mare material class at Devon
with a whopping score of 80.5% with her trainer Silva Martin.
Congratulations!!

September 30, 2007
Peter and Iggy had their
best ride ever on Friday - they placed 2nd with a 66.4% in the
open show. On Sunday during non-stop rain were the championship
classes for Training level. After a respectable ride through
puddles & mud they placed 8th out of 18 in the NW championships
in the adult amateur division. Congratulations!!
Paige and her Dan O'Brien
cleaned up - they entered in a total of six classes at the
championships, four of which they won and two made them reserve
champion.
NW Champion at Second Level
USDF Champion at Second Level
NW champion First level
First place at the open
show at First Level.
Reserve USDF Champion at
First Level in the young rider division.
Reserve Champion at
dressage seat medal 13 and under with 76%
Siggi and Don Daiquiri
competed in the open show and had a great ride despite the
puddles, which was rewarded with a 73.4% and 2nd place.
Comments of the judges,
"Wow! What a horse! Very good mover..." the second judge wrote,
"a lovely horse - so active and elastic. Very tactfully
presented. Lots of future for this pair." Both judges gave
Don Daiquiri a 9 for gaits, 9 for the medium walk and Siggi got an 8 and 9 on the rider
score.
Look at that hind end
action.
Santero had a very
trying warm-up with the speakers blasting in his ears from the
freestyle and another horse running into him shortly thereafter.
The arenas were flooded with water and puddles but he rose to
the occasion and pulled off a lovely ride that was rewarded with
a 68.4% his first time out, getting 8's for gaits and 9's on his
single trot loops. The judges
loved him, "talented horse - lot's of potential for the future &
upper levels. very well presented..."

The weather was a different
story...rain rain and some more rain...
