Dressage at DevonWood, OR

Incredible event, good competition from Canada, Idaho, Washington, Oregon & California, huge classes & world class judges set
this event appart from all others in the NW.

Elissa & Campari Cool

They held their own, showing at 1-1 & 1-3 in classes with almost 20 competitors. Always placing in the ribbons. One 6th place, two 4th's, one 3rd and to top the weekend they won their 1-1 class on Sunday with a 69.8% from Lilo Fore. Congratulations to a VERY successful show!!!

Siggi & Wieneke

Siggi showed Carrie's Friesian mare Wieneke at 1-3 after a 3 year show break. They had a great learning curve, going from 12th place (60.4%) on the first day of competition to 66.7% and 2nd place on the last day of competition - scoring a 9 on their final centerline and salute... Very proud mom Carrie and trainer Siggi!

Congratulation

to PEGASUS Training & Equine Rehabilitation Center

on their recent purchase of Sir Pegasus!

We are very excited and proud that we were able to find a youngster with such high potential for one of our very valued clients.
Sir Pegasus is five years old and has already been very successful in the German showring with many victories and scores above 80%.
He will make a great addition to the Cavallis family at Shelburne Farms.
Thank you for your trust,

Siggi & Sandra

Alfredo Hernandez clinic

Frenchi & Siggi have been working with Alfredo on a regular basis. This was their 5th clinic and it is quite amazing the progress Frenchi has made during that time. We went from bad attitude pony to star student trying to please Alfredo with his attempts at passage and piaffe.
Frenchi has gotten so much stronger & more rideable with training and help from David Blake, Raphael Heiligers and Steffen Peters over the past 12 months.
This year is all about training but he will be back in the show ring next season.

Congratulations to Swenja Gotal
on her recent purchase of Silverstone GE

I guess that was love at first sight...

We could have not found a better home for our sweet & beautiful friend. We are very happy that he will stay within the Cavallis' family since Swenja trains with Sandra in Germany. Good luck you two and start kicking butts ;-)

Steffen Peters clinic, Traumhof (Carnation), May 15 & 16th

Steffen is such an inspiration as a rider and a coach. He is always on the side of the horse and is very picky with the riders position and aids. He wants things to be SIMPLE, the rider has to find a simple aid to ask the horse and the horse has to be strong enough and capable to simply respond. Work on basic strengthening excersices, a lot of transistion within and between gaits, be picky with the response of the horse, don't drill movements, don't overdo collection - be especially careful in the walk & canter.  Too much collection for too long will destroy the quality of any gait - it's the play between forward & back that will get impulsion, cadence & expression.  Ride your horse in the most productive frame that day but in general more up with goal of poll being the highest point. However, up does not mean not strung out, the horse needs to be bend at the poll and maintain the frame picked by the rider... He was VERY picky about a good & steady contact. Adjustability, rideability & general suppleness were also big on his checklist, especially an effective half halt.

Overall the clinic was very productive from a riding & coaching prospective. Thank you Traumof for organizing such a fantastic learning opportunity.
